Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rico Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rico Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miguel Santos!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Baker wants to get back to full guard.
Baker is refusing to be controlled, as Santos sits in half guard.

Santos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baker is just riding it out for now. Santos eventually gives up the hold.
Santos wants to control but Baker is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santos is working for a submission of some sort.

Santos wants to take a breather but Baker is having none of it.
Well, if Santos is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Santos is trying to control the action in half guard but Baker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Baker is controlling Santos's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Santos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Baker but Baker pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Santos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Baker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Santos.
It looked like Baker was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Santos.

Santos drives through with a takedown into guard.
Santos advances position into side control!
Santos postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Santos wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baker, who protects the arm well.

Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Baker is not content to let Santos control the position.
Santos throwing strikes but Baker manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
You can see the frustration on Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Baker is trying to get an arm triangle but Santos is defending well.
Santos is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Baker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Santos should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Baker stops Santos from standing up.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Santos dives in for a single leg takedown but Baker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Baker is trying to control Santos's posture but Santos avoids it.

Baker regains half guard there - taking advantage of Santos's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Santos wants to stand up but Baker is controlling the position.

Santos is keen to just control but Baker is a slippery customer.
Baker regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Santos.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Rico Baker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Baker sprawls well. Baker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looked like Baker was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Santos shoots and misses
letting Baker counter with a right hand.
Santos throws a sloppy head kick
and Baker counters with a two punch combo.
Santos is breathing heavily.
Santos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Santos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Baker counters with a left to the body.
Santos misses with a wild combination.
Santos takes a swing at Baker's ribcage but misses.

Baker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Baker lands in his opponent's guard.
Santos wants to sweep here but Baker controlling him for the moment.
Santos has momentary wrist control but Baker slips an elbow through the middle.
Baker is working Santos over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Santos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Baker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santos has escaped and now he's on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Baker counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Santos thinking.
Santos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Baker was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Santos fails with a takedown attempt.

Baker clinches.

Baker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santos on the ground.

Santos looking to sit in guard and control but Baker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Baker makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Baker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Baker stands up from Santos's guard - Baker perhaps looking for a knockout.
Santos throws a sloppy body shot
and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Santos closes the distance and clinches.
Baker with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Baker successfully pulls guard.
Santos trying to control but Baker is working from the bottom.
Baker has a closed guard, preventing Santos from standing up.
Baker keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully.

Baker wants to stand up but Santos is controlling him.
Santos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Santos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Baker lands with a light punch inside.
Santos is trying to push Baker away but Baker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Baker managing to block the knees to the body from Santos.
Santos tries to circle away but Baker has him pinned against the cage.

Santos has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Baker clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Baker is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rico Baker showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Baker has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
