Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Renner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renner comes to the cage accompanied by God Particle. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Renner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gabriel Rua! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua slips under a jab from Renner. A left lands for Rua. Rua jabbing away but nothing is landing. Renner shoots in and drives through. Rua sprawls well. Gabriel Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Renner moves out of range of the strikes. Renner tried to counter with a leg kick but Rua avoided it. A cross from Rua lands. Rua tries to clinch up. It looked like Renner was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rua. Rua is looking to score with low kicks. Renner goes for a double leg but Rua avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rua continues to drive forward. Rua has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Renner moves out of range of the leg kick from Rua. Renner drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rua sprawls and moves away. The fighters circling - Rua throws out the jab but it was never going to land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rua throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Renner moves out of range of the leg kick from Rua. As Rua looks to move away, Renner throws a big counter combo bu Rua just gets out of the way. Rua fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Renner checks it well. Renner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rua was covering up waiting for the punch and Renner finishes the takedown easily into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rua preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua looking for subs off his back but Renner has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rua is trying to control but can't.
Renner thows a huge punch but Rua dodges it nicely.
Renner scoring with strikes to the body and head. Renner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rua keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rua controlling the position well. Still in half guard, Renner seems content to control. Rua is trying to get back to full guard. Rua blocking the ground and pound attempt from Renner. Rua trying to control but Renner postures up.
Renner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Renner thows a huge punch but Rua dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Renner lands strikes from half guard. Renner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rua's head. Rua wants to improve his position but Renner is controlling well.
Renner working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Renner missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Rua is looking for a sweep. Renner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Renner with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rua wants to control but Renner is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Renner is working away from the top position though. Rua has his hands clasped together around Renner's back. He's all about the action. Rua is looking for a sweep. Renner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Renner scoring with strikes to the body and head. Rua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rua tries to get to full guard but Renner has control of the leg. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Renner lands with a punch from half guard. Renner looks to land a strike but Rua avoids it nicely and regains full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremy Renner dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Renner checks a leg kick. Renner stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rua. Renner looks for a takedown but Rua sprawls well. Renner tries for a takedown but Rua circles away easily and Rua counters with a lovely straight right hand! A nice inside leg kick there by Rua. That's going to slow Renner down. Renner keeps the fight on the outside. Jeremy Renner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rua throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Renner misses with a looping right. A telegraphed right hand from Rua misses the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Renner checks the leg kick. Nice sprawl there from Rua as Renner shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Renner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Renner closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rua's guard. Renner postures up in Rua's guard and throws a big left but Rua blocks it. Renner is looking to pass into half guard but Rua pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Rua is in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renner keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully. Rua slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Rua passes Renner's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Rua perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Rua is looking to pass Renner's guard but actually Renner recovers to full guard. Renner wants to control the position but Rua says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Renner is trying to control but can't.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Rua connects with a leg kick. Renner looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Renner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rua throws a leg kick that is checked and Renner counters with a stiff right hand. Rua is looking to land body kicks. It looked like Renner wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Rua throws a low kick but it's checked well by Renner. Rua misses with a low kick. Renner seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Renner fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Rua defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Renner. Rua avoids a kick to the body.
Renner loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch. Rua throws a leg kick which misses Renner's front leg but catches the back leg as Renner tries to avoid it. Gabriel Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Good work by Renner as he checks the leg kick. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rua connects with a leg kick. Renner looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Renner takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Gabriel Rua showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Renner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Rua throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Renner fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rua avoids it really well and circles away. Rua has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Renner misses with a looping right. Rua fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rua throws a chopping leg kick but Renner manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Renner fires out a quick counter leg kick but Rua just manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Renner shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Renner showed some decent athleticism there. Nice strikes from Renner there.

Renner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rua knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Renner connects with a nice short shot to Rua's temple. Renner is looking to advance position but Rua won't allow it. Renner working the head and body with strikes. Ground and pound from Renner. Rua is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Rua is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Renner. Renner postures up and lands a big shot to Rua's brow. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Renner's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rua had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Renner defends it easily. Rua is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Renner is aware though and is defending well. Renner is working Rua over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Renner advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Renner is stalling here. Rua is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Renner seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rua has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Renner wants to control but Rua postures up. Renner is trying to get back to half guard. Rua goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Renner rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rua's guard! Nice work there by Renner! Renner cracks Rua with a solid left hand. Renner content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Renner is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rua keeping moving, preventing Renner from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Renner throws a strike but Rua rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Renner is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rua trying to control the position from guard on top but Renner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Renner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that's the end of the fight! Jeremy Renner showed his dominance in that final round. I think Renner has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jeremy Renner! Jeremy Renner tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. In defeat, Gabriel Rua stepped up to the mic, saying 'For Fucks sake.'.
