Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Baron Von Barva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Von Barva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Imperial March. Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Beat It. Corey Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Baron Von Barva!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corey Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Von Barva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.
Johnson shoots in and bounces Von Barva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Von Barva wants to stand but Johnson is controlling the position.
Johnson throws and elbow that misses. Von Barva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Von Barva!
Von Barva is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.

Von Barva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Von Barva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Von Barva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Von Barva throws a head kick that half lands.
Von Barva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Von Barva stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Von Barva jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johnson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Corey Johnson has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Von Barva which made him look bad.
Von Barva tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Von Barva thuds his right hand into Johnson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
Baron Von Barva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Johnson.

Von Barva pushes off an fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Johnson has gone for a leg lock! Von Barva slips out almost immediately though and dives into Johnson's guard.

Von Barva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Von Barva but Von Barva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Von Barva pinned against the cage. Von Barva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Baron Von Barva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson shoots in and drives through. Von Barva sprawls well.
Von Barva throws a right hand that Johnson ducks under and follows up with a left that Johnson also avoids with ease.
Von Barva lands with a kick to the temple. Johnson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Von Barva tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Von Barva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnson shoots for a takedown but Von Barva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Von Barva moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
Von Barva scores with a nice hook to the head.
Von Barva jumps into guard, dragging Johnson to the mat.

Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Von Barva dives on top into guard.
Von Barva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
Von Barva wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Baron Von Barva will probably get the nod.
