Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanjeeva Suresh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wood comes to the cage accompanied by X Gonna Give It To Ya . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Wood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sanjeeva Suresh! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suresh lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Wood sprawling to the canvas. Suresh follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Wood hang on?
Wood is rocked!
It looks like Mark Wood has been cut. Suresh trying to control the action but Wood is working from the bottom. Oh Wood is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Suresh keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Wood seems to have got his legs back now. Suresh should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Wood tries to kick Suresh off but Suresh keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Suresh is trying to control the action in half guard but Wood is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood is trying to stand up here but Suresh is controlling him well. Suresh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Suresh fakes the leg kick and cracks Wood in the body. Wood is breathing heavily. Wood throws a sloppy head kick and Suresh moves out of range easily. Wood misses with a few strikes there.
Suresh misses with a double jab.
Suresh thuds a left hand into Wood's body. Suresh with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Suresh clinches up with Wood and pushes him back against the cage. Wood wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Suresh has him pressed against the cage. Suresh keeps control of Wood as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wood has had enough of the clinch but Suresh keeps him there for the moment. Suresh landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Suresh prevents Wood from breaking the clinch. Suresh looking to slow down the pace here. Suresh blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Wood tries to break the clinch but Suresh is controlling the position. Wood breaks the clinch.
Wood tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Suresh counters with a nice leg kick. Wood moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Wood tries to clinch there but Suresh circles away.
Suresh blocks a leg kick. Suresh walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wood checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Wood misses with a leg kick and Suresh counters with an inside leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Suresh lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Wood lands a really nice looking cross but Suresh seems unphased.
Wood throws an off balance right hand
and Suresh counters with a thumping low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood falls off balance throwing a combination
and Suresh counters with a low kick, right behind Wood 's knee. A punch combination from Wood misses. A big left from Suresh misses. A low kick from Wood misses and Suresh counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A lazy left from Wood finds it's target.
Suresh is rocked! Wood connects with a nice cross there... Suresh is looking wobbly and Wood recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Suresh to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Wood jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mark Wood!
