Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Korey James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Tripplet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Tripplet has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Korey James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Tripplet! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tripplet sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat. James with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tripplet to score with a decent uppercut.
James is rocked! Tripplet gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows James to score an easy takedown into full guard. James is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Tripplet looking to hit a scissor sweep but James is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tripplet keeping full guard, as James tries to pass. Tripplet trying to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. James trying to control but Tripplet is working from the bottom. Tripplet tries to land a sweep but no joy. James thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. James works a leg free and moves into half guard. James moves into full mount! Tripplet won't be happy about that! James working for a submission but Tripplet is keeping him at bay. Tripplet keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Tripplet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James trying to control but he's not successful this time. James has control of Tripplet's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tripplet regains control of the situation pretty easily.
James working for a submission but Tripplet is keeping him at bay. James looking to secure an arm triangle but Tripplet defends it well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. James wants to finish this one by submission but Tripplet is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from James.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James working for a submission but Tripplet is keeping him at bay. Tripplet tries to improve his position but James has taken his back! James has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Tripplet tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! James pushes Tripplet away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Korey James!
