The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guappo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Guappo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Mendez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Guappo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Guappo looking for a guillotine here but Mendez defends easily.
Mendez wants to control from the top but Guappo keeps moving.
Guappo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mendez doesn't defend quickly enough and Guappo has managed to lock this one up! Can Mendez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Guappo on a fantastic submission victory.
