Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vidak Korenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erling Koch!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korenko tries to move into range but Koch moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Koch fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Korenko manages to avoid it.
Nice uppercut there from Koch.
Sloppy strikes from Korenko. Those never looked like landing.
A nice side step and Koch releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Koch avoids a punch combination nicely.
Koch jabs Korenko to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Koch throws a body shot but no joy.
Korenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Koch manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koch throws a head kick that misses.
Korenko misses with a kick to the body.
Korenko tries to clinch up.
Korenko throws a series of punches but Koch moves out of range.
Korenko is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Korenko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Koch ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Korenko throws a lazy head kick
and Koch counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Vidak Korenko has been cut.
Koch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Korenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Koch.
Koch throws a shot to the body.
Koch connects with a looping right hand.
Koch is looking to slow Korenko down with leg kicks.
Koch lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Korenko up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Koch from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Korenko's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erling Koch!
