Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hucci Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramirez has chosen Clay - Abscond as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oscar Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramirez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Phoenix sprawls well. Phoenix wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ramirez gets slowly back to his feet. Ramirez throws a body punch but Phoenix moves out of range. Phoenix stuffs the takedown attempt from Ramirez. Ramirez gets slowly back to his feet. Phoenix shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ramirez is trying to defend but Phoenix finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Ramirez trying to control but Phoenix postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Phoenix is taking a breather. Ramirez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramirez wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez is trying to stand up here but Phoenix is controlling him well. Ramirez wants to control but Phoenix is keeping busy and won't allow it. That's two minutes gone in the round. Phoenix keeping moving, preventing Ramirez from controlling successfully. Ramirez wanted to stand there but Phoenix had control of the position. Phoenix lands a couple of elbows. Phoenix is in close to Ramirez's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Phoenix stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ramirez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Phoenix controlling from the top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Phoenix rushes Ramirez and presses him up against the cage. Phoenix pulls guard. Phoenix wants to stand but Ramirez is controlling the position. Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Phoenix is keeping the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Phoenix bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ramirez's guard.

Hucci Phoenix dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Ramirez tries to sprawl but Phoenix drives through with a takedown into half guard. Phoenix is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Phoenix tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ramirez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Phoenix performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Phoenix is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ramirez is looking to get back to full guard here but Phoenix has managed to pass to side control instead. Phoenix cracks Ramirez with a big elbow. Phoenix is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ramirez can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ramirez is looking for a sweep. Phoenix landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Phoenix staying calm. Phoenix in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Ramirez is looking for a sweep. Phoenix works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix in side control, just content to control the action for now. Ramirez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Phoenix's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Phoenix trying to control the pace. Phoenix is pressing down on Ramirez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ramirez is holding on for now.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ramirez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Phoenix controlling the pace. That's two minutes gone in the round. Phoenix would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Phoenix passes Ramirez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Phoenix landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hucci Phoenix overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramirez is looking to control Phoenix's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ramirez avoid being mounted? Phoenix works his way into full mount! Phoenix quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Phoenix but it's paid off an Ramirez is forced to tap! Nice work by Phoenix.
