The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joshua slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Ted Zanik has been cut.
Zanik takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Joshua moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Joshua rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zanik moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Zanik lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Zanik gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Joshua.
Joshua fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Zanik misses with a jab to the body
and Zanik takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Joshua connects with a good right hand that stumbles Zanik. Zanik circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Joshua throws a shot to the body.
Joshua digs a good hook to Zanik's body.
Zanik attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Joshua now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Zanik takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Zanik is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Joshua scores with a hook to the body. Zanik takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Joshua fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Joshua scores with the left hand. Zanik knows he should have avoided that one.
Ted Zanik's cut is getting worse.
Joshua fakes the body blow, causing Zanik to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Zanik goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Project Joshua!
In defeat, Ted Zanik stepped up to the mic, saying 'Back to training, have to right the wrongs!'.
