The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baretto displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dsa. Dsa shoots in looking for a takedown but Baretto manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dsa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Qew Dsa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dsa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baretto defends it nicely. Baretto looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Dsa takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dsa really is a fat lump. Baretto works the jab nicely. Baretto lunges at Dsa with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dsa's hand. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dsa is defended easily by Baretto. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baretto scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Dsa looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dsa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dsa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dsa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dsa throws a strike but Baretto rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Baretto trying to control the position from guard on top but Dsa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dsa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baretto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Dsa is tightening it up a little... Baretto has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Baretto reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Baretto taps out! Nice BJJ there by Dsa!
