Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Devon Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Devon Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vincent Adams!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Paul is trying to drag Adams to the mat but Adams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Adams gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Paul pushes Adams off and gets back to his feet.
Adams is looking to chop away at Paul's legs.
Paul tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Adams paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Adams tries to counter by closing the distance.

Adams closes the distance and clinches.
Paul goes for a takedown attempt but Adams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Paul rushes Adams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Adams is pressed up against the cage. Paul has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Adams down to the mat. Adams avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devon Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Adams stuffs the takedown attempt from Paul. Paul gets slowly back to his feet.
Adams tries to counter by closing the distance.

Adams bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Paul bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Devon Paul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Paul is trying to pull guard but Adams turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Paul tries to score a body lock takedown but Adams shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Paul tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Adams's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Paul drops down looking for an ankle pick but Adams pulls his leg out and moves away.

Adams has Paul up against the cage in a clinch.
Paul really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Adams successfully pulls guard.
Adams throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Adams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Paul is controlling him.
Adams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Adams wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Paul manages to pass to side control.
Paul perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adams trying to control here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Adams moves into the clinch successfully.

Adams drags the fight down to the ground.
Paul controlling from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vincent Adams will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Paul tries to clinch there but Adams circles away.
Paul throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Adams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Paul, pushing him back against the cage.

Adams turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Adams manages to end up in side control.

Paul sneaks out the side door and pushes Adams away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Good leg kick by Adams there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Adams moves into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Adams gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Paul regains guard.

Paul uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Paul tries to clinch up.

Adams closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Adams stops a takedown attempt from Paul.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paul wants a takedown.
Paul wants to take the fight to the mat but Adams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devon Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Adams jumps into guard, dragging Paul to the mat.
Paul stops Adams from standing up.
Adams trying to keep a closed guard but Paul is proving a slippery customer.
Paul will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Adams looking to control but Paul passes into half guard.

Adams pushes Paul off looking to stand but Paul dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Still in half guard, Paul seems content to control.

Adams pushes Paul up against the cage in a clinch.
Paul jumps guard but Adams stands there with Paul around his waist. Paul gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Adams stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Adams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Adams rushes Paul and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Adams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Paul on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Adams digs a right hand underneath Paul's ribcage. Paul let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Paul manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Adams keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Adams as the two fighters clinch.

Adams jumps guard and drags Paul to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Adams looking to control but Paul passes into half guard.
Paul wants to pass to mount but Adams is defending the position.
Adams is looking to get back to full guard here but Paul has managed to pass to side control instead.
Adams tries to buck Paul off but Paul is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Vincent Adams will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Paul's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Adams manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Paul stays in close to Adams's body and controls the position.
Adams wants to stand and escape but Paul is having none of it.

Adams is wriggling around but Paul manages to pass to half guard.

Adams rushes Paul and presses him up against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Adams jumps guard and drags Paul to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Paul puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Paul is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Paul seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Adams for as long as he can get away with.

Well, if Paul is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Paul doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Adams counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Adams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paul's guard.

Paul has his feet on Adams's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Paul shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adams as he avoids it easily.
Vincent Adams is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Adams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Paul wants to take the fight to the mat but Adams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Paul changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Adams tries to avoid it but Paul manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Adams to the ground. Adams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Paul tries to sprawl but Adams drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Paul throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Paul kicks Adams off and gets back to his feet.

Adams moves into range and clinches up with Paul.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Vincent Adams.
I've got Adams winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
