4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tomasz Kowalski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Basil McCrystal! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kowalski is defended easily by McCrystal. McCrystal takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kowalski takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McCrystal lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McCrystal jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
McCrystal lands a body shot.
McCrystal lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McCrystal. Kowalski takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McCrystal scores with the left hand. Kowalski knows he should have avoided that one. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McCrystal lands a jab to Kowalski's midsection. McCrystal throws a series of punches but Kowalski moves out of range. Kowalski is looking to clinch but McCrystal is avoiding it.

McCrystal wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. McCrystal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kowalski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McCrystal somewhat. McCrystal blocks the body kick.
McCrystal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kowalski circles away quickly and effectively. Kowalski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McCrystal pinned against the cage. McCrystal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kowalski misses with a few strikes there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kowalski tries to close the distance and clinch up but McCrystal swats him away and circles back towards the center. McCrystal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kowalski. McCrystal with a jab. McCrystal circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd cheers as McCrystal lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kowalski doesn't seem phased though. Good shot there by McCrystal. McCrystal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kowalski moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kowalski is looking to counter with a body kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McCrystal throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kowalski. McCrystal scores with a jab to the jaw. Kowalski has closed the distance and engaged McCrystal in a clinch.
Kowalski pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. McCrystal being controlled against the cage. Kowalski's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. McCrystal looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalski effectively controlling the action here. McCrystal is looking to break free of the clinch but Kowalski has double underhooks. Kowalski tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kowalski prevents McCrystal from breaking the clinch. Kowalski tries to pull guard but McCrystal holds him up against the cage and eventually Kowalski drops back down to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kowalski missing with knees to the body.
McCrystal gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kowalski.
Kowalski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McCrystal smiles and moves away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kowalski. McCrystal does a little dance to reset his feet. McCrystal stuns Kowalski with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kowalski has McCrystal up against the cage in a clinch.

Basil McCrystal dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kowalski throws a half hearted mid kick. McCrystal changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Basil McCrystal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kowalski shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Kowalski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tomasz Kowalski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Good standup being displayed there by McCrystal as he connects with a hook. McCrystal swats away the attempt to clinch by Kowalski. McCrystal lands a jab-cross combination. Kowalski closes the distance and clinches up with McCrystal, looking for a takedown. Kowalski pushes McCrystal against the cage but McCrystal circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. McCrystal misses with a series of wild punches.

Kowalski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. McCrystal fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kowalski on the wrong end of a nice hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McCrystal scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCrystal moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Kowalski moves into the clinch. Kowalski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McCrystal just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomasz Kowalski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kowalski breaks from the clinch.

McCrystal swats away the attempt to clinch by Kowalski. It seemed like McCrystal was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. McCrystal connects with a body shot. McCrystal shoots for a double leg takedown but Kowalski sprawls well. He's pushed McCrystal's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. McCrystal scores with a shot to the body.
McCrystal lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. McCrystal keeps the fight on the outside. A momentary lapse in concentration from McCrystal enables Kowalski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McCrystal manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Kowalski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kowalski wants to control from the top but McCrystal keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCrystal wants to stand but Kowalski is controlling the position. Kowalski controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kowalski gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Kowalski tries for a takedown but McCrystal circles away easily and McCrystal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A right-left combo lands from McCrystal. Kowalski shoots in but McCrystal avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCrystal darts in and clinches Kowalski up against the cage. Kowalski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Kowalski just misses with a elbow thrown towards McCrystal's brow. Kowalski is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Basil McCrystal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Kowalski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kowalski blinks but takes it well. Kowalski shoots in for a takedown but McCrystal shows good takedown defense. McCrystal connects with the punch. McCrystal connects with a body shot that sends Kowalski's belly button to the back. McCrystal has closed the distance and engaged Kowalski in a clinch.
