Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramses Kolmas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peyton Hillis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peyton Hillis!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kolmas looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hillis looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Decent striking displayed by Kolmas there.
Hillis throws the left hand but Kolmas avoids the punch easily.
Kolmas drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hillis sprawls and moves away.

Kolmas forces Hillis back against the cage and clinches.

Kolmas has picked Hillis up - he's going for a ride! Kolmas dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Kolmas seems to be working for a kimura but Hillis defends the submission attempt.
Hillis wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Kolmas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kolmas is looking to take a break and control but Hillis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kolmas is looking for a kimura but Hillis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kolmas to get the leverage.

Kolmas throws a strike but Hillis avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Kolmas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hillis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kolmas is controlling him.
Kolmas wants to control from the top but Hillis keeps moving.
Kolmas works over Hillis with some ground and pound from guard.

Kolmas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hillis's guard.
Kolmas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hillis's head.

Kolmas throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hillis to regain full guard.

Kolmas content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hillis wants to stand and escape but Kolmas is having none of it.

Hillis can't keep his opponent in guard - Kolmas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kolmas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hillis keeps working.

Hillis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kolmas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kolmas is trying to control. Hillis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kolmas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kolmas is nestled in close to Hillis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kolmas seems to be looking for submissions.
Hillis is staying active underneath Kolmas, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramses Kolmas dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kolmas moves out of range as Hillis strikes.
Hillis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kolmas.
Hillis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hillis wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice defenses there by Kolmas.
Hillis throws a hook but Kolmas blocks it.
Kolmas appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Hillis misses with a wild combination.
Kolmas fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hillis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kolmas.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hillis! But no joy.

Kolmas throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Kolmas is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hillis.
Peyton Hillis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kolmas wants to clinch up but Hillis keeps it at a distance.
Hillis throws out a counter right but Kolmas avoids it with no problem.
Kolmas throws a body shot but no joy.
Kolmas throws a front kick that sends Hillis stumbling back into the cage.

Kolmas moves into the clinch.
Kolmas fails to pull guard.
Hillis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kolmas has him pressed against the cage.

Hillis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The fighters circling - Kolmas throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hillis avoids the head kick by Kolmas.
Kolmas moves in looking to clinch but Hillis pushes him off.
Kolmas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hillis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hillis throws a right hand that Kolmas ducks under and follows up with a left that Kolmas also avoids with ease.
Kolmas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hillis can do to turn this around?
Kolmas fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hillis checks it well.
Kolmas throws a leg kick but Hillis sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Kolmas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hillis wriggles free and stands up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hillis throws out a counter right but Kolmas avoids it with no problem.
Hillis steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kolmas. That one must have hurt.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hillis!
A punch combination from Hillis misses.
Kolmas gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hillis.

Kolmas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kolmas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We've been hearing that Kolmas has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Peyton Hillis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Kolmas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kolmas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kolmas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kolmas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kolmas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hillis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
