The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rection looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Rection moves in looking to clinch but Rivers pushes him off.

Rection gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rection wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rivers keeps working.
Rivers regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rection.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rection throws a big elbow that misses.
Rivers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rection's guard.

Rivers is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
