PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matos Yury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Dias!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Yury - just one landing.
Dias drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Dias walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Yury looks to land a combination but Dias avoids it well.
Dias wants to counter the offense by Yury and move into the clinch position.
Yury throws a right hand that Dias ducks under and follows up with a left that Dias also avoids with ease.
Dias fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yury drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dias sprawls and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dias shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Yury connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dias throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yury's waist but Yury gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dias off to one side.
Yury was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Dias takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dias! But no joy.

Dias looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yury with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

As Yury backs off Dias throws a huge counter combo but Yury manages to avoid it all.
