Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Herbert Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Du Toit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Du Toit has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Herbert Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Du Toit!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Du Toit closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Du Toit throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Du Toit wants to stand up but Cote has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Du Toit is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Du Toit passes the guard and advances to mount!
Cote could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Du Toit is in the full mount, landing strikes.


It looks like Herbert Cote has been cut.
Du Toit controlling from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Du Toit might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Du Toit swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cote is now in Du Toit's guard. A big mistake from Du Toit there, giving up the dominant position!

Du Toit is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cote defends well.

Du Toit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cote can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Du Toit has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Du Toit throwing short punches from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Du Toit pulls Cote in close to his closed guard and prevents Cote from doing any damage or advancing position.

Du Toit pushes Cote off and scrambles back to his feet.
Cote slaps away a takedown attempt from Du Toit, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cote tries to counter with a takedown but Du Toit is quick to defend against it.

Du Toit has managed to clinch.
The referee calls for Du Toit to work.
Cote tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cote is trying to pull guard but Du Toit turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Du Toit lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cote backwards.


Herbert Cote's cut is getting worse.

Du Toit breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Du Toit rushes Cote and presses him up against the cage.

Cote tries to clinch up but Du Toit circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Du Toit tries for a takedown but Cote sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cote appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Crunch! Du Toit slams his shin into Cote's torso.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Du Toit darts in and clinches Cote up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roy Du Toit dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Herbert Cote's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Cote tries to close the distance and clinch but Du Toit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Du Toit misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Du Toit bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cote is trying to control Du Toit's posture but Du Toit avoids it.
You can see the frustration on Cote's face as Du Toit controls the position.
Du Toit has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cote looking for a sweep but Du Toit has passed into full mount! Oh no!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Du Toit scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Du Toit tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Du Toit lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Cote is rocked!
Du Toit postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Cote out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Du Toit goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Roy Du Toit!
