Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Northcutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Northcutt has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Northcutt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Victor Owens!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Northcutt takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Northcutt takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Northcutt rushes Owens and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Owens has had enough of the clinch but Northcutt keeps him there for the moment.
Owens changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Northcutt fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Northcutt walks into a left hand.
Northcutt takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Northcutt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Owens napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Northcutt wants to control but Owens is keeping him busy.

Northcutt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Owens, who protects the arm well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Owens manages to work his way to half guard, despite Northcutt's best efforts.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Northcutt is looking to stall here but Owens recovers full guard.
Owens is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Northcutt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Owens swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Northcutt is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Owens is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Owens has escaped and now he's on top!

Northcutt wants to sweep here but Owens controlling him for the moment.
Owens sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Owens stands up from Northcutt's guard - Owens perhaps looking for a knockout.
Northcutt takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Owens throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Northcutt counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Northcutt.

Northcutt jumps guard.
Owens won't allow Northcutt to sweep him here.
Northcutt is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Northcutt has his foot on Owens's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Owens works his way back into a safe position though.
Owens sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Let's hope that Owens has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Northcutt wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Owens is now in half guard.
Owens perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Northcutt on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Northcutt tries to get out of the position.
Owens is continuing to stall.
Northcutt is looking for a sweep. Owens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Well, if Owens is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Owens dominated that round.
That's time! Northcutt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Northcutt takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Owens thuds a left hand into Northcutt's body.
Owens lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Northcutt at a distance.
Owens tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Northcutt was well out of range. Poor timing from Owens.
Owens swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Owens throws a right and a left that Northcutt avoids nicely.
Owens ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Northcutt moves away.
Owens lands a body shot.
Northcutt misses with a takedown attempt - Owens sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Northcutt takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Daniel Northcutt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Owens lands a nice shot that snaps Northcutt's head back.

Northcutt closes the distance and clinches.

Northcutt gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Owens is trying to stand.
Northcutt throwing shots but Owens is blocking nicely.
Owens is not content to let Northcutt control the position.
Owens is trying to maintain the position but Northcutt is very close to passing his half guard.
Owens might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Northcutt haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Northcutt is looking to pass Owens's guard but actually Owens recovers to full guard.
Northcutt stops Owens from standing up.

Northcutt wants to control from the top but Owens keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Owens cracks a nice hook into Northcutt's ribs.
Owens connects with a body shot.
Owens scores with a shot to the body.
Owens fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Northcutt looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Owens comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Owens has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Northcutt rushes Owens and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Northcutt is trying to trip Owens. He has hold of a leg but Owens is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Northcutt persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Owens manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Northcutt has Owens pressed against the cage, preventing Owens from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Northcutt working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Owens has Northcutt pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Northcutt manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Owens throws a knee to the head but misses.
Owens tries to break the clinch but Northcutt is controlling the position.

Northcutt gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Northcutt trying to control the position from guard on top but Owens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Owens pulls Northcutt in to control the position.

Northcutt loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Owens keeping moving, preventing Northcutt from controlling successfully.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Northcutt shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Owens defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Owens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Victor Owens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Owens scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Owens is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Northcutt rather than just go for the knockout.

Northcutt throws a push kick but Owens slaps the foot to one side.

Owens throws a combination. Northcutt tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Northcutt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Victor Owens seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Northcutt fails with a takedown attempt.
Owens dips to his left and cracks Northcutt with an uppercut!
Northcutt fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Owens throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Owens swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Northcutt drops down looking for a counter takedown but Owens sprawls and moves away.
Northcutt walks into a straight right hand from Owens.


Northcutt is rocked!
Northcutt takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Northcutt on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Oh Northcutt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A jab lands there for Owens.
Owens scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Northcutt doesn't seem bothered though.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Northcutt finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Owens's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Northcutt falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Victor Owens!
