Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Ring! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Orkan Dogu! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dogu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Dogu thuds his right hand into Ring's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Ring throws a wild body kick that Dogu sees coming a mile off. Dogu scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Ring scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dogu in his tracks. Ring throws a head kick but Dogu moves out of range.
Dogu is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Dogu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ring. Ring circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Ring throws a right and a left that Dogu avoids nicely. Ring takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Dogu blocks a head kick by Ring.
Dogu scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. This has been an exciting period of action! Dogu misses the jab. Ring stalks Dogu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dogu's face. Dogu staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Orkan Dogu has been cut. Ring throws a sloppy head kick and Dogu moves out of range easily. Dogu moves out of range of the leg kick from Ring. Dogu changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Ring misses. Dogu feints the counter takedown. Ring misses with a head kick.
Dogu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ring defends it well. Dogu takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ring enables Dogu to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ring manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ring working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dogu. Dogu postures up in Ring's guard and throws a big left but Ring blocks it. Dogu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ring wants to stand and escape but Dogu is having none of it. Dogu trying to control the position from guard on top but Ring is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dogu keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ring's head. Dogu content to stall in guard here. Dogu throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dogu tries to free his leg and advance position but Ring is retaining full guard. Dogu prevents Ring from getting back to his feet. Dogu working some strikes from top position. Ring pushes Dogu off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dogu connects with a crisp jab. Ring misses with a few strikes there.
Dogu looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Dogu stands up over Ring, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Ring wants to stand but Dogu is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ring has momentary wrist control but Dogu slips an elbow through the middle. Dogu prevents Ring from getting back to his feet. Ring keeping full guard, as Dogu tries to pass. Dogu is working Ring over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Dogu throws an elbow that misses. Ring uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dogu's guard. Nice move by Ring! Ring tries to stand but Dogu is controlling from the bottom. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dogu trying to keep a closed guard but Ring is proving a slippery customer.
Ring would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ring won't allow Dogu to sweep him here. Dogu trying to control the position.
Dogu lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Dogu prevents Ring from getting back to his feet. Dogu wants to control from the top but Ring keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Orkan Dogu will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Orkan Dogu's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A jab from Ring finds it's way through Dogu's defenses. Ring throws a body shot but no joy. Dogu throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ring throws a head kick that misses and Dogu counters with a nice double leg into guard. Ring manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Dogu.
Dogu lands a body punch in the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dogu is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ring breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ring manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dogu keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Ring blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Dogu cracks Ring with a nice body shot. Ring misses with a knee to the head. Dogu lands an uppercut. Ring makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Nice elbow from Ring. Dogu misses with a short punch on the inside. Ring misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ring lands a good knee to the midsection. Dogu won't want to take too many of those. Dogu drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ring gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dogu is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ring pushes off an throws an elbow but Dogu leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Ring throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ring tries to land a knee to the head but Dogu blocks with his arms.
Dogu is trying to trip Ring. He has hold of a leg but Ring is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dogu persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Ring is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Dogu presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Ring tries to throw a body punch but Dogu avoids it by throwing Ring back against the cage. Dogu has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Ring seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Dogu can turn it around. Ring stalling the fight.

Jeremy Ring has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orkan Dogu. Dogu is trying to force a seperation but Ring has the dominant position. Ring landing knees to the head.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Ring. Dogu works on Ring's body with a couple of short punches. Dogu goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ring prevents it.

Ring throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ring drops his hands momentarily and Dogu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Jeremy Ring seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ring throws a body shot but no joy. Ring fails in his attempt to clinch. Dogu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ring defends it well. Dogu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ring as he avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ring lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dogu's sensitive parts. Dogu stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Dogu throws the left hand but Ring avoids the punch easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dogu lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Ring looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Dogu thuds his right hand into Ring's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Dogu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ring on his heels. He'll look to pass Ring's guard now, I'm sure. Dogu works over Ring with some ground and pound from guard. Ring keeping moving, preventing Dogu from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dogu landing with the ground and pound. Dogu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jeremy Ring will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Orkan Dogu's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Dogu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ring throws out the jab. Dogu looks to score with a jab to the body but Ring is just out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice defenses there by Dogu. Ring looks to land a left hand but Dogu moved out of range nicely. And Dogu tries to counter it with a takedown but Ring pushes his down on his head and steps out. Dogu lands a nice looking body shot.
Dogu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dogu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ring wants to get back to his feet but Dogu is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Dogu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dogu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dogu distracts Ring with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Ring avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dogu cracks Ring with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Dogu immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Ring is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Dogu!
