Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Victor Stoic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Sassano Jnr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Victor Stoic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Sassano Jnr! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sassano Jnr connects with a jab. Stoic shoots and misses and Sassano Jnr moves into the clinch. Sassano Jnr told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Sassano Jnr lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Sassano Jnr stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Sassano Jnr obliges. Sassano Jnr working Stoic over with knees to the body. Sassano Jnr lands an uppercut. Sassano Jnr presses Stoic against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Stoic is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sassano Jnr pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Stoic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sassano Jnr crunches a lovely knee into Stoic's ribcage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sassano Jnr working Stoic over with knees to the body. Stoic is breathing heavily. Sassano Jnr has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stoic regains guard immediately. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sassano Jnr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stoic swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sassano Jnr trying to control but Stoic is working from the bottom. Sassano Jnr drops back looking for a leg! Stoic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stoic manages to kick Sassano Jnr off! Sassano Jnr jumps back into Stoic's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sassano Jnr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sassano Jnr postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Sassano Jnr wants to control from the top but Stoic keeps moving. Stoic wants to stand but Sassano Jnr is controlling the position. Sassano Jnr wants to control from the top but Stoic keeps moving. Stoic looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Stoic wants to stand and escape but Sassano Jnr is having none of it. Sassano Jnr landing with the ground and pound. Sassano Jnr postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Sassano Jnr prevents Stoic from getting back to his feet. Sassano Jnr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Stoic avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stoic wants to stand but Sassano Jnr is controlling the position. Sassano Jnr lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Stoic is rocked! Sassano Jnr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Oh Stoic is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sassano Jnr gets to his feet and stands over Stoic, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Stoic felt that one! Sassano Jnr unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Stoic from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Sassano Jnr! Tony Sassano Jnr decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
