Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Clovey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moe Syzlak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clovey tries for a takedown but Syzlak sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Syzlak stuffs the takedown.
Clovey throws a wild body kick that Syzlak sees coming a mile off.

Syzlak drives through with a takedown into guard.

Clovey looking for a guillotine here but Syzlak defends easily.
Syzlak passes Clovey's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Syzlak is working for a submission of some sort.
Syzlak tries to pass to full mount but Clovey defends it.

Syzlak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Clovey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Syzlak has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Clovey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Syzlak on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Syzlak counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Clovey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Syzlak wants to take a breather but Clovey is having none of it.

Clovey wants to improve his position but Syzlak is controlling well.
Syzlak uses his free foot to push down on Clovey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Clovey.

Syzlak is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Clovey is surviving well by controlling Syzlak's body position as best he can.

Syzlak has hold of Clovey's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Clovey manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Clovey is looking to clinch but Syzlak is avoiding it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Syzlak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clovey's waist but Clovey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Syzlak off to one side.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Syzlak shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Syzlak was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Syzlak wants to control the action but instead Clovey gets a body lock and reverses into Syzlak's guard! Nice work!

Clovey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Syzlak not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Syzlak throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Clovey escapes and throws Syzlak's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Moe Syzlak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Clovey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Syzlak is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Syzlak isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Clovey stacks Syzlak on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Clovey!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Syzlak is looking for a sweep.
Syzlak takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Moe Syzlak is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Clovey is thwarting Syzlak's attempts to control the position.

Clovey wants to stand but Syzlak has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Clovey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Clovey connects with a couple of short punches.

Syzlak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clovey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Syzlak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
