Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Der Debil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Campion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Debil comes into the arena with Bulimic blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Der Debil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matthew Campion! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Debil looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Campion gets tackled into the cage by Debil. Debil maintains the clinch. Debil drags the fight down to the ground.
Debil looking for a guillotine here but Campion defends easily.
Campion is looking to stand up but Debil won't let him. Campion postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Campion has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Debil is proving hard to escape from. Debil trying to control the position.
Debil throws his legs up looking for a submission but Campion uses it to pass to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Debil looks to move to half guard but instead Campion has passed into mount! Damn! Campion controlling the pace for now. Campion stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Debil throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Campion clinches. Debil can't get the takedown.
Campion breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Debil looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Campion defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Debil. Campion throws a counter combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Der Debil. That's going to take a lot out of him. Campion moves into the clinch successfully.
Campion will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Debil up against the cage. Campion escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Debil shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Campion's guard. Debil missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Debil with a nice head shot there. Debil stops Campion from standing up. Debil is working Campion over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Debil trying to control the position from guard on top but Campion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Debil accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Debil throws a strike but Campion rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Debil is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Campion gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Campion leaves Debil with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Debil shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Campion as he avoids it easily. Campion with a nice cross.
It looks like Der Debil has been cut. Nice takedown defense from Campion. No joy for Debil on that attempt. Campion scores with a jab to the body. Debil shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Campion but Campion pushes him off and we're back to square one. Campion has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Campion pushes Debil up against the cage in a clinch. Campion breaks from the clinch.
Campion throws a head kick that misses and Debil counters with a single leg into guard. Campion didn't expect that. Debil stops Campion from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Debil throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Campion wants to stand but Debil is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Debil loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Debil throws a strike but Campion rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Campion has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Debil is proving hard to escape from. Debil looking for a guillotine here but Campion defends easily.

Matthew Campion dominated that round. The cut man is working on Der Debil's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Debil jabbing away but nothing is landing. Debil dives in for a single leg takedown but Campion sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Debil throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Campion was covering up waiting for the punch and Debil finishes the takedown easily into guard. Campion manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Debil has Campion pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Campion manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Campion escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice uppercut there from Campion. Matthew Campion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Campion closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Campion lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Campion landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Debil looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Der Debil. That's going to take a lot out of him. Campion lands with a short shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Campion lands a nice elbow. Debil jumps guard and drags Campion to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Debil has a closed guard, preventing Campion from standing up. Campion has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Campion gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Campion drives through and clinches with Debil against the cage.
Debil tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Campion smiles and moves away.
Campion throws a quick inside leg kick. A shot to the body from Debil misses and Campion counters with a two punch combo. Debil on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A solid body kick from Campion. Matthew Campion is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Campion moves into the clinch.

Campion lands a body punch in the clinch. Campion's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Campion rushes Debil and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Campion escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Campion tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Debil attempts a counter takedown but Campion avoids it well and moves away. Campion misses with a two punch combination.
Campion scores with a spinning back kick! Campion lands a head kick. Debil smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Campion misses with a body kick. Campion connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Campion pushes Debil away with a front kick. Debil fails with the takedown and Campion counters with a nice low kick that buckles Debil's knee momentarily. Debil shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Campion defends it nicely. Campion plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Campion drives through and clinches with Debil against the cage.

Der Debil's cut is getting worse. Debil moves out of range of the body kick. Debil tries for a takedown but Campion sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Campion unleashes a big counter combination but Debil bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Campion throws a half hearted mid kick. Debil gets a double leg takedown into Campion's guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Campion manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Campion pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Debil fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Debil wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Campion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Der Debil's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Campion's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Debil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Campion avoids it really well and circles away. Campion swinging wildly here.
Campion turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Campion stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Campion wants it to stay on the feet. Campion lands with a kick to the ribs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Campion slaps away a takedown attempt from Debil, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Debil throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Campion throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Campion takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Debil shoots in but no luck this time. Campion clinches up with Debil and pushes him back against the cage. Matthew Campion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Campion pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Campion lands a slapping body shot.
Debil shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Campion as he avoids it easily. Campion now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Campion ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Debil will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Campion pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Der Debil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Campion scores with a push kick. Campion closes the distance and pushes Debil back into the cage. Matthew Campion seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Campion avoiding damage.
Debil has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Campion is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Debil takes an elbow to the forehead. Debil is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Campion to keep the fight standing. Debil is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Campion is defending well for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Matthew Campion comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Campion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
