Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Mills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Mills!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Stone!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone throws a push kick but Mills slaps the foot to one side.

Mills shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Mills is working for a submission of some sort.

Stone is defending against the submission attempts here by Mills.

Mills is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mills.
Mills stops Stone from getting back to his feet.
Stone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mills. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stone tries to get to full guard but Mills has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mills wants to work for an arm triangle but Stone is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stone wants to control from the top but Mills keeps moving.
Stone might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mills kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Stoneis looking to pass into half guard but Mills pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Mills is in guard.

Mills is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Stone has managed to free his arm - good work.

Stone feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Stone gets to his feet. Mills looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mills has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stone has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

so Stone counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mills tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mills has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stone misses with a strike from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Stone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A close second round but John Stone will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Stone shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mills's guard.
Mills looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there.

Mills is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Stone rolls with it to try and escape but Mills cranks on the arm and Stone is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
