35 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cedric Mabuva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 41 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Caio Cesar Caprillo! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mabuva throws a body shot but no joy. Mabuva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Caprillo manages to avoid it. Mabuva misses with a two punch combination.
Mabuva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Caprillo shoots for a takedown but Mabuva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mabuva cracks Caprillo with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Mabuva has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Caprillo to stand back up!
It looks like Caio Cesar Caprillo has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Mabuva throws a combination that misses and Caprillo counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Mabuva! Caprillo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mabuva keeps working. Caprillo fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Caprillo tries for a kimura but Mabuva is defending well. Mabuva is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mabuva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mabuva wants to control but Caprillo postures up. Caprillo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mabuva is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Caprillo tries to advance to mount but Mabuva denies him. Caprillo working the ground and pound but Mabuva is defending the strikes. Mabuva on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mabuva tries to get out of the position. Caprillo wants to control but Mabuva is keeping him busy. Mabuva tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caprillo lands shots from the back. Caprillo patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Caprillo is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mabuva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Mabuva is trying to get back to his feet but Caprillo has full control of the position and if anything, Mabuva has just worked his way into a worse spot. Mabuva is looking to escape here. Oh dear - Caprillo has locked on a rear naked choke here! Mabuva is tapping out! The fight is over!
