Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Farofa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves has chosen Sick Puppies - You're Going Down as his entrance music. Carlos Farofa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ricardo Alves's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Farofa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Alves! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Farofa. Farofa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Farofa needs to keep his hands up - Alves had a free shot at his head there. Farofa misses with a series of wild punches.
Farofa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves misses with a few strikes there.
Alves is looking to score with low kicks. Alves lands a nice shot to the body.
Donk. Alves catches Farofa right on the button with a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Farofa misses with a combination
and Alves counters with a nice uppercut. Farofa fails with the takedown and Alves counters with a lovely shot to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Farofa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alves defending well as Farofa loads up on a big left hand. Alves is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Alves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Farofa pushes Alves off looking to stand but Alves dives back in and keeps control.
Alves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Farofa's head. Alves wants to control but Farofa is keeping him busy. Alves seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Alves stops Farofa from getting back to his feet.
Alves throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Farofa is refusing to be controlled, as Alves sits in half guard. Alves winds up and cracks Farofa with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Farofa is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Alves stops Farofa from getting back to his feet.
Alves not landing any meaningful shots this time. Alves has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Alves wants to take a breather but Farofa is having none of it. Alves working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Farofa looks like he's trying to stand up.
Alves is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Alves lands strikes from half guard. Farofa is trying to stand back up but Alves is controlling him
Alves lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Alves is nestled in close to Farofa, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Alves winds up and cracks Farofa with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Farofa wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves drops an elbow to the side of Farofa's head. Oh Farofa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Alves lands a big elbow - Farofa is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Alves!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Alves! Our winner, Ricardo Alves, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. In defeat, Carlos Farofa stepped up to the mic, saying 'thanks for coming out and party on me tonight'.
