Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wedus Gembel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gembel throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Deshawn Jackson has been cut.
Jackson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gembel counters with a one-two to the body.
Jackson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gembel.
A head kick from Gembel lands but Jackson takes it in his stride.
Gembel feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jackson's calf.
Gembel looks to land a body kick but Jackson moved away.
Gembel tries to clinch there but Jackson circles away.
Gembel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jackson counters by clinching up.
Gembel is trying to break the clinch but Jackson has him pressed against the cage.

Jackson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gembel can't fight it off and eventually Jackson manages to take the fight to the floor. Gembel looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jackson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

and Jackson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Gembel wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Jackson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson wants to stand and escape but Gembel is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gembel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Gembel has been working on his balance at The Hut - $50, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Jackson.

That was a close round but I would say that Wedus Gembel will probably get the nod.

Gembel shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Jackson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Jackson has picked Gembel up - he's going for a ride! Jackson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Gembel wants to stand back up but Jackson manages to pass into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wedus Gembel.
I think Gembel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
