Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rupert Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rupert Gardner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Tyler! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gardner swivels and escapes. Gardner is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Tyler. Gardner steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tyler. A big left from Gardner misses. Tyler drives through with a takedown into Gardner's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Gardner has his feet on Tyler's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Gardner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tyler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gardner tries to avoid it but Tyler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gardner to the ground. Gardner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gardner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gardner wants it to stay on the feet. Gardner tries to counter by clinching up but Tyler breaks away and moves out of range. Rupert Gardner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler. Gardner misses with a few strikes there.
Gardner closes the distance but Tyler moves to the side and Tyler counters with a series of strikes. Gardner will be more careful next time no doubt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gardner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tyler slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyler not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tyler slows the pace down in half guard. Gardner keeping hold of Tyler's head, controlling as best he can. Well, if Tyler is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Tyler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gardner knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gardner is trying to maintain the position but Tyler is very close to passing his half guard. Tyler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gardner keeps working. Gardner is looking for a sweep. Tyler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gardner keeping control of the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Gardner tries to clinch up. Despite the aggression on Tyler's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Gardner slips a jab and a cross from Tyler.
Gardner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gardner clinches up with Tyler and pushes him back against the cage. Gardner tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tyler is looking to take this one to the mat. Tyler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rupert Gardner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gardner throws a hook to the side of Tyler's head but Tyler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gardner misses with a combination
and Tyler counters by moving into the clinch. Tyler pulls guard successfully.
Gardner throws an elbow that misses. Tyler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gardner's guard. Nice move by Tyler! Tyler throws an elbow that misses. Gardner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jake Tyler will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A right-left combo lands from Gardner. Tyler shoots in and drives through. Gardner sprawls well. The fight moves into the clinch position. Gardner manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Tyler drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gardner dives on top into guard. Gardner throws an elbow that misses. Tyler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gardner's guard. Nice move by Tyler!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gardner managing to control the position. Gardner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gardner controls Tyler momentarily but Tyler frees himself. Gardner is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tyler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Tyler trying to control the position from guard on top but Gardner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tyler distracts Gardner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Tyler is fighting to break Gardner's control of his arms but Gardner is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Tyler is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jake Tyler has got the better of the ground game so far.

Tyler wanted to stand there but Gardner had control of the position. Tyler sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gardner is trying to control the position but Tyler postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Tyler being controlled against the cage. Gardner fails to pull guard.

Gardner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gardner slaps away a takedown attempt from Tyler, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tyler misses with a takedown attempt - Gardner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rupert Gardner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tyler shoots in but Gardner avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jake Tyler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tyler rushes Gardner and presses him up against the cage. Tyler is looking for a takedown. Tyler is breathing heavily. Tyler tries to pull guard but Gardner won't allow it.

Gardner will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tyler up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tyler is trying to drag Gardner to the mat but Gardner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Gardner tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Rupert Gardner will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

He's got his arms around Gardner's waist but Gardner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tyler off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Gardner looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tyler with the counter takedown but Gardner avoids it easily. Tyler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tyler loads up on a big right hand but Gardner slips the punch. As Tyler tries to get set, Gardner tries to push him back and clinch up but Tyler manages to avoid the attempt. Gardner gets tackled into the cage by Tyler. Tyler maintains the clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gardner displaying some good clinch control by pressing Tyler up against the cage. Gardner is trying to maintain a safe position but Tyler gets an underhook and turns Gardner into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gardner is defending well against a takedown attempt. Tyler is looking to break free of the clinch but Gardner has double underhooks. Gardner prevents a takedown attempt there.
Rupert Gardner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler. Tyler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gardner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tyler to keep the fight standing. Gardner trying to land knees to the body.

Gardner is pushing Tyler up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Gardner is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Gardner for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rupert Gardner. Tyler closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gardner did well to prevent Tyler getting side control. Gardner makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Good anti-grappling being displayed by Tyler as Gardner tries to tie him up. Tyler is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Tyler is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gardner is defending well. Gardner stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gardner struggles to land a body shot inside as Tyler controls his hands.
A battle for position here, against the cage. Gardner displaying some good clinch control by pressing Tyler up against the cage. Gardner stalls. Gardner seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Tyler drags the fight down to the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gardner is sitting in close to Tyler's body. Tyler has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gardner is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gardner is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Tyler.
