Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ratko Malich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malich's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Behemoth - O Father O Satan O Sun. Hunter has chosen Applause by Lady Gaga as his entrance music. Nathan Hunter has the eye of the tiger tonight.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ratko Malich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nathan Hunter! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hunter not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hunter is controlling the pace.
Malich regains full guard. Nicely done. Hunter is stalling in the full guard. We've been hearing good reports from Malich's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunter looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter content to stall in guard here. Hunter postures up in Malich's guard and throws a big left but Malich blocks it. Hunter with a flurry of punches that miss. Hunter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hunter scores with a takedown into Malich's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hunter keeps trying to improve his position. Hunter is looking to stand up but Malich won't let him. Hunter showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Malich shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hunter counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hunter tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hunter has picked Malich up - he's going for a ride! Hunter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Malich won't allow Hunter to pass to mount. Hunter is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Malich won't allow Hunter to pass to mount. Malich trying to hold on to Hunter's head to control him but Hunter postures up.
Hunter tries to pass to full mount but Malich defends it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hunter stalling away here and it's allowed Malich to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nathan Hunter dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hunter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malich is trying to defend but Hunter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hunter seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Hunter wants to pass to mount but Malich is defending the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunter keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hunter prevents Malich from standing back up.

Hunter wants to pass the guard but Malich is defending well. Hunter has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hunter is looking for a kimura but Malich is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hunter to get the leverage. Malich has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hunter is working away from the top position though. Hunter passes to full mount! Hunter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Malich is now in Hunter's guard. A big mistake from Hunter there, giving up the dominant position! Nathan Hunter has got the better of the ground game so far. Hunter is breathing heavily. Hunter is adopting a defensive guard. Malich postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hunter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Malich, into his guard.
Malich is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malich can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hunter controls the pace. Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Malich swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hunter stopping the sweep attempt from Malich. Hunter's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hunter postures up in Malich's guard and throws a big left but Malich blocks it. Malich keeping full guard, as Hunter tries to pass. Hunter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Hunter trying to control the position from guard on top but Malich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hunter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Malich tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hunter defends well and Malich ends up having to push Hunter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. As Malich backs off Hunter throws a huge counter combo but Malich manages to avoid it all. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Malich darts in looking for a takedown but Hunter gets double underhooks and turns Malich into the cage. Ratko Malich is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hunter rushes Malich and presses him up against the cage. Malich changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hunter fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hunter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunter has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hunter with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Malich is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Malich flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hunter anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Malich and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hunter slips an arm under Malich chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hunter has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hunter is squeezing on Malich like an anaconda would it's prey. Malich fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nathan Hunter! Nathan Hunter was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
