Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noritada Hanari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice combination there by Correa.
Correa takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Correa's corner calls for a 1-2. Correa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Hanari's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Correa connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hanari scrambles back to his feet. Hanari lands a nice leg kick that just misses Correa's sensitive parts. Correa looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Horrible takedown attempt by Correa or perhaps it was just good defense by Hanari, which made it look bad. Hanari throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Hanari takes a swing at Correa's ribcage but misses. Jose Correa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Correa misses with a wild body shot. Nice uppercut lands for Correa. That snapped Hanari's head back.

It looks like Noritada Hanari has been cut. Correa pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Hanari tries to counter with a clinch but Correa shakes him off and moves away. Correa fails with a takedown attempt. Correa shoots in for a double leg but Hanari sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hanari tries to counter by closing the distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Correa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Correa misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hanari has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hanari there as he acknowledges the shot. Hanari fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Correa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A combination from Correa does no damage. Correa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hanari avoids it really well and circles away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanari makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hanari.

Hanari is looking to control Correa's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hanari avoid being mounted? Correa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Correa wants to pass the guard but Hanari is defending well. Correa prevents Hanari from improving his position. Still in half guard, Correa seems content to control. Hanari keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hanari regains full guard. Nicely done. Hanari is trying to keep Correa in close.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hanari wants to control from the top but Correa keeps moving. Hanari got a little sloppy there for a moment and Correa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanari has managed to get both his arms back between Correa's legs - danger averted. Correa working for submissions but it's allowed Hanari to get to half guard.

Correa is rocked! Hanari looking for a guillotine from mount but Correa is having none of it. Oh Correa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Correa is squirming around, avoiding Hanari's attempts to control the action. Correa is in all sorts of trouble here.
Correa seems to have got his legs back now. Correa manages to regain half guard. Good work. Correa is pressing down on Hanari's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Noritada Hanari. I think Hanari has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
