Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Wallace! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Watson! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace fails with the takedown. Wallace darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wallace is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wallace trying to mount his opponent but Watson defends it. Watson tries to get to full guard but Wallace has control of the leg. Wallace missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wallace trying to pass the guard but Watson defending well. Watson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Watson is defending against the submission attempts here by Wallace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wallace missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Watson is looking for a sweep. Wallace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Wallace missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Watson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Wallace has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wallace looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Watson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Watson. Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Watson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Watson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wallace doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wallace manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wallace stands and throws Watson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Wallace is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Watson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wallace is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Watson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wallace is breathing heavily. Wallace goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Watson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wallace's guard! Nice work there by Watson!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson tries to free his leg and advance position but Wallace is retaining full guard. Watson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Watson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wallace keeping moving, preventing Watson from controlling successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Watson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallace missing with a left hand there. Watson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. William Wallace is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wallace throws a low kick but Watson avoids it. Watson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A kick lands to the mid section there for Watson. Watson misses with a head kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Watson. Watson checks the leg kick nicely there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wallace. Wallace wants to clinch but Watson slips to the side and Watson counters with a body kick. Watson scores with a kick to the midsection. Wallace misses with a takedown and Watson counters with a low kick, right behind Wallace 's knee.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace blocks a head kick by Watson.
Wallace falls off balance throwing a combination
and Watson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Wallace is lucky that one didn't land flush. Watson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wallace shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Watson manages to regain half guard. Good work. Watson is trying is best to control the position here. Wallace scoring with strikes to the body and head. Watson is trying to control but can't.
Wallace is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Watson has managed to free his arm - good work. Wallace is pressing down on Watson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Watson is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Watson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wallace. Wallace is trying for a kimura here. Watson looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Wallace wins by kimura!
