Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franz Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olivar Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delgado uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Silva.

Delgado shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Delgado showed some decent athleticism there.
Silva controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Silva wants to control but Delgado is keeping busy.
Delgado wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva tries to roll over but Delgado keeps him under control.

Silva moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Delgado throws an elbow that misses. Silva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Delgado's guard. Nice move by Silva!

Delgado wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

Silva is pushing down on Delgado's leg trying to pass to half guard. Delgado is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through.

Silva uses his free foot to push down on Delgado's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Delgado.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Delgado turns into him and now he's in Silva's guard.

Silva wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Silva is working for a kimura but Delgado is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Silva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Delgado can do to turn this around?
Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Delgado's guard.

Silva slips nicely into half guard.
Silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Delgado is trying to escape the mount but Silva keeps good control and instead manages to take Delgado's back.
Silva is not going to allow Delgado to sit and survive in this position.

Delgado is trying to defend against the choke here but Silva has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Silva Tightens the hold and Delgado taps out furiously! Silva displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
