Redding has chosen Deep Cover as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Donnell James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joshua Redding!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redding shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has James pinned against the cage. James gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
James shoots in and drives through. Redding sprawls well.

Redding throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. James tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Redding is in James's guard.
James not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Redding with a nice head shot there.
Redding sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed James's guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Redding lands a nice short elbow.

Redding is working for a kimura but James is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James is trying to get back to full guard.
Redding wants to free his trapped foot but James is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Redding lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Well, if Redding is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
James tries to get to full guard but Redding has control of the leg.
Redding has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Redding is controlling the pace.
James is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Redding is taking a breather. James says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Redding's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Redding works his way into full mount!
James working to try and regain half guard.
Redding landing punches.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Redding takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Redding is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Redding!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Joshua Redding!
After the fight, Joshua Redding was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
