The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viaquiro takes the fight into the clinch.
Stafford jumps guard but Viaquiro stands there with Stafford around his waist. Stafford gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Stafford wants a takedown.
Viaquiro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stafford avoids the head kick by Viaquiro.
Stafford tries to counter by clinching up but Viaquiro breaks away and moves out of range.
Viaquiro lands a big head kick that sends Stafford tumbling to the mat! Viaquiro takes a step backwards and waves Stafford back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Elmo Stafford has been cut.
Viaquiro closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stafford to the mat! Stafford manages to get full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stafford could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stafford pulls Viaquiro in close to his closed guard and prevents Viaquiro from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Viaquiro fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

and Stafford counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Stafford perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Viaquiro wants to stand back up but Stafford manages to pass into side control.
Stafford throws an elbow but Viaquiro slips to the side and avoids it well.
Viaquiro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stafford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stafford is trying to get an arm triangle but Viaquiro is defending well.

Stafford has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stafford shoots in and drives through. Viaquiro sprawls well.
Viaquiro gets in close and tags Stafford with a short punch that almost sends Stafford to the mat! Oh Stafford is in big trouble! He turns his back on Viaquiro, trying to create some distance but Viaquiro rushes him, striking wildly and Stafford goes down! The referee tackles Viaquiro into the cage to end the fight! Viaquiro is one violent man!
