Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Giorgio Conte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Stoned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoned is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dr. Dre - The Watcher. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoned misses with an uppercut. Conte saw that one coming.
Stoned throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stoned with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A big right from Conte misses.
Conte rushes Stoned and presses him up against the cage.
I was talking to Conte's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Come on Conte - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Stoned throws a punch but it's blocked by Conte.

Stoned walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Conte checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Stoned is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Conte reverses the position - he's now on top in Stoned's guard.

Stoned fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Conte has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stoned's corner calls for a 1-2. Stoned obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It looked like Conte wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Stoned escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Conte gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stoned might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Conte haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Stoned wants to hit a switch here but Conte passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Stoned there!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Giorgio Conte.
Well Conte has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
