Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Opdauhl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Byrne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry Opdauhl!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Opdauhl throws a good cross that connects.
Byrne moves out of range as Opdauhl throws a body kick.
Opdauhl throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Byrne stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Opdauhl moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Byrne moves out of range of the strikes.
Opdauhl checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Byrne tries to move into range but Opdauhl moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Opdauhl is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Byrne.
We've been hearing reports that Byrne has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Byrne takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Opdauhl scores with a jab to the jaw.
Opdauhl throws a series of punches but Byrne avoids them all with ease.
Opdauhl throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Byrne counters with a nice double leg into side control. Opdauhl won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Opdauhl sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Byrne with the ground and pound but Opdauhl uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Byrne pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Opdauhl is keeping the position for now.

Byrne trying to control but Opdauhl is working from the bottom.
Byrne throws a big elbow that misses.
Opdauhl avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Opdauhl controls Byrne momentarily but Byrne frees himself.
Opdauhl seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Byrne trying to control the position from guard on top but Opdauhl is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Byrne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Opdauhl swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Opdauhl pulls Byrne in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Byrne trying to control the position from guard on top but Opdauhl is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Byrne trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Byrne tries to bum rush Opdauhl with a series of wild strikes but Opdauhl uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Opdauhl closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Opdauhl goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Opdauhl throws a lazy head kick
and Byrne counters with a thumping low kick.
Byrne throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Opdauhl.
Opdauhl throws a body punch but Byrne moves out of range.
Byrne lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Opdauhl at a distance.
Opdauhl throws a wild body kick that Byrne sees coming a mile off.
Byrne jabs Opdauhl right on the nose. Opdauhl blinks but takes it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Byrne misses the jab.
Opdauhl throws a quick inside leg kick.
Byrne lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Opdauhl at a distance.
Opdauhl looks winded!
Opdauhl gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Byrne throws a hook but Opdauhl blocks it.
Opdauhl looks for the body kick but Byrne saw that one coming.
Opdauhl throws a lazy uppercut
and Byrne scores with a counter punch that sends Opdauhl to the canvas! Byrne smells blood - he's punishing Opdauhl with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Opdauhl has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Byrne!
