The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Balboa throws a leg kick that is checked

and McGill holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Nice elbow from McGill.

McGill has Balboa pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McGill pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Balboa tumbling to the mat - McGill dives into Balboa's guard.
McGill is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Balboa has momentary wrist control but McGill slips an elbow through the middle.
McGill is stalling in the full guard.
McGill slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

McGill is working to tighten his grip on Balboa's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Balboa has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but McGill is really squeezing tight and eventually Balboa passes out! McGill breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
