Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Graham Doyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blade Diaz! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doyle gets tackled into the cage by Diaz. Diaz maintains the clinch. Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fight moves into the clinch position. Diaz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Doyle chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Diaz can pounce on him.
Diaz throws a sloppy head kick and Doyle moves out of range easily. Diaz fails to land the takedown. Doyle shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Diaz is trying to defend but Doyle finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Diaz tries to roll over but Doyle keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz moves into full guard.
Diaz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Doyle's guard. Diaz showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Diaz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz is standing up over Doyle. Doyle looks to escape but Diaz dives into side control.
The ground and pound from Diaz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. A lull in the action here as Diaz stalls from top position. Doyle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Diaz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Doyle has escaped the position, nice work there. A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Diaz trying to control the action but Doyle is working from the bottom. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Doyle is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch. Diaz pressing his opponent against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A frustrated look appears on Doyle's face as he tries to break the clinch. Diaz drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Blade Diaz dominated that round. That's time! Doyle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Diaz ducks under a wild hook from Doyle. Diaz lands a left and a right that send Doyle crashing to the mat, dazed. Diaz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Graham Doyle has been cut. Diaz plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Doyle to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Doyle just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Blade Diaz!
