PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juicy Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spanky Spangler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spangler has chosen WHITE LIGHTNING-by AB as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juicy Jay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Spanky Spangler!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spangler works the jab nicely.
Spangler throws out a powerful jab.
Spangler missing with a left hand there. Jay was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jay tries to counter with a takedown but Spangler is quick to defend against it.
Spangler throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jay shoots in looking for a takedown. Spangler tries to sprawl out of it but Jay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Spangler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jay fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Spangler throws out a counter right but Jay avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spangler is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jay.
Jay goes for a double leg but Spangler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Spangler continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juicy Jay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jay shoots in for a takedown but Spangler shows good takedown defense.
Spangler swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jay dives in and grabs Spangler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Spangler pushes down on Jay's head and hops out.

and Spangler counters with a nice uppercut.
Spangler looks to land a right hand but Jay moved out of range.
Spangler bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jay's head backwards.
Spangler connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jay ducks right into an uppercut from Spangler.
Jay fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Spangler avoids it really well and circles away.
Spangler scores with the left hand. Jay knows he should have avoided that one.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jay tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Spangler defends well and Jay ends up having to push Spangler into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jay.
Spangler swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jay has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jay there as he acknowledges the shot.

Jay is rocked!
Spangler might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jay bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Spangler comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Jay falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Jay was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Spanky Spangler!
A very excited looking Spanky Spangler rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
