Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shrimp McGimp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yukata Guyjin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yukata Guyjin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shrimp McGimp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yukata Guyjin! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guyjin fails with a takedown attempt. McGimp looking for a takedown here - he's got it. McGimp not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Guyjin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Guyjin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGimp gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Guyjin has his foot on McGimp's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McGimp works his way back into a safe position though. McGimp is pushing down on Guyjin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Guyjin is fighting to maintain full guard but McGimp has managed to sneak the leg through. McGimp not doing much here.
Guyjin wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGimp is taking a breather. Guyjin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Guyjin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Guyjin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Guyjin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McGimp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guyjin on the ground. McGimp trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Guyjin is looking for a triangle but McGimp pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McGimp trying to control but Guyjin is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Guyjin tries for a takedown but McGimp circles away easily and McGimp counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Guyjin's guard now. Guyjin looks gassed! McGimp controlling from the top position. McGimp advances to half guard. Guyjin trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGimp wants to control but Guyjin is keeping him busy. McGimp is pressing down on Guyjin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Guyjin is holding on for now. McGimp is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Guyjin works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guyjin is looking for a triangle but McGimp pushes his legs off easily.
McGimp's corner is telling him to maintain position. Guyjin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McGimp is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Guyjin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McGimp's back instead. Well, with Guyjin on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before McGimp is tapping out... Can he escape the position? McGimp trying to control the position but Guyjin manages to sink in the hooks. McGimp is in bad spot here.
McGimp is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Guyjin gets his way!
McGimp turns into Guyjin and is now in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McGimp works a leg free and moves into half guard. McGimp controlling the action here. McGimp stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. McGimp tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Guyjin with a poor takedown and McGimp counters with a shoot takedown. Guyjin fights it but they end up in guard. Shrimp McGimp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yukata Guyjin. McGimp decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Guyjin, up you get! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McGimp closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Guyjin to the mat! Guyjin manages to get full guard. Guyjin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Guyjin looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shrimp McGimp dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
McGimp darts in and clinches Guyjin up against the cage. McGimp works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Guyjin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McGimp decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Guyjin, up you get! Guyjin misses with a takedown attempt and McGimp counters with a nice double leg into side control. Guyjin won't be happy with that. Guyjin is looking for a sweep. A lull in the action here. McGimp's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Guyjin is trying to control McGimp's posture but McGimp avoids it. McGimp thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGimp trying to control the action but Guyjin is working from the bottom. Guyjin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McGimp wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Guyjin struggling a bit here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. McGimp closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Guyjin to the mat! Guyjin manages to get full guard. Guyjin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. McGimp trying to hold on to Guyjin's head to control him but Guyjin postures up.
Guyjin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Shrimp McGimp overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Guyjin is looking for a kimura here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGimp is controlling Guyjin's position as best he can from this difficult position. McGimp tries to roll over but Guyjin keeps him under control. McGimp is looking to escape. McGimp gets back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guyjin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guyjin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Guyjin passes easily into side control. Nice work. McGimp tries to improve position but can't. Guyjin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Guyjin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Guyjin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. You can see the frustration on McGimp's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Guyjin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McGimp wants to control but Guyjin postures up. McGimp is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Guyjin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. McGimp gets a takedown into half guard. Guyjin wants to improve his position but McGimp is controlling well.

Shrimp McGimp dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
McGimp fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Guyjin sprawls well initially but McGimp persists and gets the takedown into half guard. McGimp is trying to control the action in half guard but Guyjin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Guyjin is looking for a sweep. McGimp is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. McGimp working Guyjin over with strikes. McGimp wants to pass to mount but Guyjin is defending the position. Guyjin tries to roll over but McGimp keeps him under control. Guyjin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. McGimp is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Guyjin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McGimp doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McGimp manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters are breathing heavily. McGimp trying to control but Guyjin is working from the bottom.

McGimp controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. McGimp has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McGimp seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Guyjin for as long as he can get away with. Guyjin looking for a guillotine here but McGimp defends easily.
McGimp seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Guyjin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McGimp Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Guyjin's back instead. Guyjin tries to escape but McGimp has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Guyjin manages to reverse the position and now he's in McGimp's guard. Nice work there by Guyjin.
Guyjin with a flurry of punches that miss. Guyjin tries to free his leg and advance position but McGimp is retaining full guard. Guyjin wants to control from the top but McGimp keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McGimp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Guyjin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Excellent takedown into side control there by McGimp. Guyjin is looking to regain half guard here but McGimp keeps moving and retains side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Shrimp McGimp showed his dominance in that final round. Well McGimp has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
