Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Razor Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marx is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bad Reputation. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Razor Speed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lou Marx!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Speed looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marx uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Speed.
Speed will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Speed takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Marx with a lazy takedown attempt
and Speed counters with a series of strikes. Marx will be more careful next time no doubt.
Speed tries to close the distance and clinch but Marx swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Razor Speed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marx drives through with a takedown into Speed's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Marx working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Speed on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Speed tries to get out of the position.
Marx postures up in Speed's guard and throws a big left but Speed blocks it.
Marx with a nice head shot there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marx accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Marx working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Marx postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Marx throws a strike but Speed rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Speed has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Marx is controlling Speed's posture.
Marx tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Speed throwing strikes but missing.
Marx pulls Speed in close to prevent any damage.
Speed missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marx is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Speed has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Marx lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Marx postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Speed pulls Marx in close to prevent any damage.
Marx tries to free his leg and advance position but Speed is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marx slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Marx lands a couple of elbows.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marx trying to control but Speed is working from the bottom.
Marx postures up in Speed's guard and throws a big left but Speed blocks it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Speed utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Speed shoots in for a takedown but Marx shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Marx moves into range and clinches up with Speed.
Marx lands a body punch.
Marx lands an uppercut.
Marx misses with a punch to the body.
Speed blocks a body shot from Marx.
Marx is struggling to control the position.
Speed is looking for a takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marx lands a right hand.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Speed just misses with a elbow thrown towards Marx's brow.
Marx blocking some punches.
Marx stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Speed is breathing heavily.
Marx lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Marx lands a right hand.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Marx.
A short left from Marx.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marx pushes Speed back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Marx tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Marx lands a left hand.
A short uppercut from Marx.
Marx working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Marx lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A short right from Marx.


Speed is rocked!
Marx creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Speed with a big uppercut! Speed tries to clinch up but Marx pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Speed to the mat! Speed covers up and Marx unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lou Marx!
