Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Cosby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Richmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cosby comes to the cage accompanied by Hikky Burr. Richmond has chosen Dont Stop Me Now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Charles Richmond has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bill Cosby!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Charles Richmond!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cosby with a nice cross.
Richmond misses with a series of wild punches.
Cosby drops down looking for a counter takedown but Richmond sprawls and moves away.
Cosby definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Richmond misses with a double jab.
Cosby scores with a kick to the body.
Richmond misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Richmond fails in his attempt to clinch.

Richmond has taken the fight to the clinch.
Richmond fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Cosby drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Richmond tries to work over Cosby's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Cosby gets control of Richmond's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cosby will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Richmond won't allow Cosby to sweep him here.
Richmond is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Richmond slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Cosby is trying to control the position but Richmond postures up.
Cosby looking for a sweep. Not yet Cosby, not yet.
Richmond wants to pass the guard but Cosby is keeping the position.
Cosby seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Cosby has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Richmond can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Richmond is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cosby looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Richmond wanted to stand there but Cosby had control of the position.
Richmond trying to control the position from guard on top but Cosby is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cosby tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Richmond must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cosby looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cosby keeping moving, preventing Richmond from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Richmond controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Richmond wants to pass the guard but Cosby is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Richmond throws a head kick but Cosby moves out of range.
Richmond tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Richmond misses with a head kick.
Cosby attempts a counter takedown but Richmond avoids it well and moves away.
Richmond stuffs the takedown attempt from Cosby. Cosby gets slowly back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Richmond pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Richmond takes a jab right on the kisser.
Cosby throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Richmond tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cosby manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cosby jabs Richmond right on the nose. Richmond blinks but takes it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Richmond lands with a kick to the temple. Cosby shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Bill Cosby has been cut.

Richmond closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Richmond's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Richmond scores with an uppercut up the middle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cosby missing with knees to the body.
Richmond looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Richmond tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Richmond lands with a short shot to the head.

Richmond pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Richmond lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cosby circles away quickly and effectively.
Cosby misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Richmond.
Richmond throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Cosby's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Richmond throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Cosby crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Charles Richmond!
Charles Richmond is the new middleweight champion!
Charles Richmond really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Machine Fight Gear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Bill Cosby was interviewed post fight and said 'I'd like to thank my sponsors, "Jello Pudding Pops" and "Quaalude."'.
