The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vader avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Vader shoots in looking for a takedown but Messinger manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vader's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Messinger. Vader does a little dance to reset his feet.

Vader changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Messinger looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vader wants to lay and pray for a moment but Messinger keeps working.
Vader looks up at the clock and then as Messinger takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vader smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Vader tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Messinger defends well and Vader ends up having to push Messinger into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Vader changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Messinger tries to avoid it but Vader manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Messinger to the ground. Messinger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Messinger, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
