Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kabakov lands a nice looking kick to the body. Zapata takes a step back to recover.
Kabakov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kabakov walks into a left hand.
Kabakov looks to land a right hand but Zapata moved out of range.
Kabakov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Zapata is out of range and Kabakov settles back down.
Zapata rushes Kabakov and presses him up against the cage.
Kabakov tries to land knees in the clinch but Zapata avoids the damage to the body.
Zapata jumps into guard, dragging Kabakov to the mat.
Kabakov tries to free his leg and advance position but Zapata is retaining full guard.
Zapata tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Zapata trying to keep a closed guard but Kabakov is proving a slippery customer.
Kabakov is looking to stand up but Zapata won't let him.
Kabakov throws a big right hand that misses.
Kabakov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zapata is pulling down on Kabakov's head to control his posture.
Zapata avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kabakov trying to move into half guard but instead Zapata has managed to sweep!
Kabakov is looking for a triangle here but Zapata uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Kabakov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Zapata is putting a hurting on Kabakov here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kabakov is wriggling around trying to escape but Zapata has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Kabakov taps out and Zapata picks up the big win! Great work there by Zapata!
