Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Palowakski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palowakski has chosen Burning Down the House as his entrance music. The key to victory for Keiji Kawada has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Keiji Kawada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Palowakski! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawada closes this distance looking for a takedown but Palowakski circles away. Kawada shoots and misses and Palowakski counters by moving into the clinch. Kawada lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Palowakski throws an elbow that misses.
A right hook to the body lands for Palowakski.
Kawada tries to work over Palowakski's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A head punch on the inside from Palowakski fails to land. The referee is keeping an eye on Kawada - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kawada breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palowakski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kawada.
Palowakski gets tackled into the cage by Kawada. Kawada maintains the clinch. Palowakski is pressed up against the cage. Kawada has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Palowakski down to the mat. Palowakski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keiji Kawada. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kawada looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Palowakski is fending him off so far but Kawada persists. Nope, Palowakski circles away and we're back to standing. Kawada looking to score a takedown here. Palowakski is defending well but Kawada drives through and ends up in Palowakski's guard. Kawada trying to control the position from guard on top but Palowakski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Palowakski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawada looking to sit in guard and control but Palowakski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kawada not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Palowakski wants to control from the top but Kawada keeps moving. Kawada has Palowakski pulled in close to control his posture. Kawada working a defensive guard here.
Kawada is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Palowakski defends well. Palowakski landing some decent shots from guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawada has his foot on Palowakski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Palowakski works his way back into a safe position though. Palowakski tries to free his leg and advance position but Kawada is retaining full guard. Palowakski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kawada working a defensive guard here.
Kawada has his hands on Palowakski's head, controlling the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kawada looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kawada had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Palowakski defends it easily. Palowakski is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Palowakski trying to control but Kawada is working from the bottom. Kawada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palowakski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kawada is tightening it up a little... Palowakski has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Palowakski reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Palowakski taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kawada!
