Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carl Casey is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Casey!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casey closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hillman circles away.
Hillman tries to counter with a takedown but Casey is quick to defend against it.
Casey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Casey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hillman is defended easily by Casey.
Casey wants to counter with a clinch but Hillman pushes him away.
Sloppy strikes from Hillman. Those never looked like landing.
Hillman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Casey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Casey showed some decent athleticism there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hillman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Casey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hillman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Casey is trying to maintain the position but Hillman is very close to passing his half guard.
Casey is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hillman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hillman's back!

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Hillman will probably get the nod.

Casey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hillman defends well and Casey ends up having to push Hillman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hillman has his foot on Casey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Casey works his way back into a safe position though.
Casey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hillman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Casey is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hillman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hillman has escaped and now he's on top!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hillman or perhaps it was just good defense by Casey, which made it look bad.
Hillman moves into range and clinches up with Casey.
Casey prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Hillman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Casey keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hillman's efforts to push away.
