Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Foster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Batista! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foster throws a lazy right hand but Batista sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Batista with the counter takedown but Foster avoids it easily. Batista is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Foster's half guard. My spies in Canadian Dragon MMA inform me that Batista has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Foster tries to get to full guard but Batista has control of the leg. Foster is refusing to be controlled, as Batista sits in half guard. Foster is trying to get back to full guard. Batista is looking to advance position but Foster won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Batista is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Batista is controlling the pace.

Batista seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Foster does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Batista works his way into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Batista is looking to take a break and control but Foster is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Foster is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Batista's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Batista! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Foster has tapped! This one is allllll over!
