Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Escobar De Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Villars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Escobar De Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Villars!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vega throws a head kick that misses
and Villars connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Villars throws a jab but it's blocked by De Vega.
Villars throws a lazy right hand but De Vega sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Villars pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Escobar De Vega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Villars is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by De Vega.
De Vega throws a quick counter kick to the body but Villars avoids it.
Villars misses with a wild body shot.
De Vega punishes Villars's body with a nice straight punch.
De Vega lands a head shot.
De Vega throws a head kick that half lands.
A telegraphed right hand from Villars misses the target.
De Vega swings for the body but Villars moves out of range.
De Vega rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Villars counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
De Vega on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A slow jab from Villars misses its intended target.
De Vega looks for the body kick but Villars saw that one coming.
Villars misses with an uppercut. De Vega saw that one coming.
De Vega appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Villars closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. De Vega did well to prevent Villars getting side control.
De Vega tries to get to full guard but Villars has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Villars is nestled in close to De Vega, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

De Vega makes his way to full guard. A much better position for De Vega.

De Vega is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Villars defends well.

De Vega wants to sweep here but Villars controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
De Vega is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Villars is controlling him.
De Vega keeping moving, preventing Villars from controlling successfully.
Villars has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Villars accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
De Vega has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Villars walks into a left hand.
Villars pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Villars missing with a left hand there. De Vega was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
De Vega shoots in but no luck this time.
De Vega misses with a head kick.
De Vega looks to land a right hand but Villars moved out of range.
De Vega sizes up Villars with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Villars jabbing away but nothing is landing.
De Vega lands with a nice body kick.
De Vega tries to clinch up but Villars circles away and keeps his distance.
De Vega lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Villars blocks a head kick by De Vega.
Villars swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
De Vega darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Villars throws a combination but it was largely blocked by De Vega.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
No luck for Villars with that takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
De Vega misses with a head kick.
De Vega slips under a jab from Villars.
De Vega half committed to a counter leg kick.
De Vega bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Villars might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
De Vega pulls out of a head kick attempt.
De Vega shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Villars but Villars pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Villars takes the fight into the clinch.
Villars drops to a knee looking for a takedown but De Vega gets the underhooks and prevents it.
De Vega blocks an elbow strike.
De Vega tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Villars blocks a punch to the side of the head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Villars dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Villars looks to land a right hand but De Vega moved out of range.
De Vega uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Villars.
De Vega shoots in looking for a takedown. Villars tries to sprawl out of it but De Vega keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Villars manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Villars has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Villars throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

De Vega has closed the distance and engaged Villars in a clinch.
De Vega doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Villars prevents a body shot from De Vega.

Villars jumps into guard, dragging De Vega to the mat.
De Vega works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Vega prevents Villars from standing back up.

De Vega is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Villars defends it well.
Villars wants to control but De Vega is keeping busy.

De Vega lands with a punch from half guard.
Villars keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Villars is looking to escape.
De Vega looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Villars with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
De Vega working over Villars with some ground and pound. Villars looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Villars is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De Vega's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De Vega's back!

Villars is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. De Vega knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften De Vega for a finish.

Villars working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
De Vega is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
De Vega moves into full guard.
Villars lands a couple of digs.

Villars postures up and lands a big shot to De Vega's brow.

De Vega wants to sweep but no luck.
Villars working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.


De Vega is rocked!
Villars loads up on a big left hand. De Vega felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Villars looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! De Vega can't hide his disappointment, as Villars celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Villars!
A very excited looking Richard Villars made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
