Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kazuo Mizaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steven Work!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mizaki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mizaki throws out a loose jab but Work uses good head movement to avoid it.
Steven Work seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Work ducks under a wild hook from Mizaki.

Work closes the distance and pushes Mizaki back into the cage.
Work landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Work manages to break the clinch.
Mizaki misses with a hook. Work ducked under it nicely.
Mizaki missing with a left hand there. Work was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Work let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Mizaki throws out a loose jab but Work uses good head movement to avoid it.
Work now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Mizaki connects with a right hand. Work shakes it off.
Work moves out of range of the strikes.
Work shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mizaki defends it nicely.
Mizaki was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mizaki has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Hut - $50 in the buildup to the fight.
Work throws a series of punches but Mizaki moves out of range.
Kazuo Mizaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mizaki cracks a nice hook into Work's ribs.
Mizaki connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Mizaki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Work.
Work uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mizaki.
Work tries to clinch up but Mizaki circles away and keeps his distance.
Work throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mizaki misses with a looping right.
Work takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Work shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mizaki defends it nicely.
Work fails with the takedown.
Kazuo Mizaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Work.

Mizaki connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mizaki missing with a left hand there. Work was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Work slips under a jab.
Work goes for a double leg but Mizaki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mizaki continues to drive forward.
Work shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mizaki counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Steven Work has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mizaki scores with a nice head shot.
Mizaki jabs Work to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Work looks winded!
Work ducks under a wild hook from Mizaki.
Work needs to keep his hands up - Mizaki had a free shot at his head there.
Mizaki throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mizaki drops Work with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Work looks back up at him and smiles so Mizaki waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Work is rocked!
Work leaves his chin hanging out and Mizaki seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Work crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kazuo Mizaki!
