Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ezekiel Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Life Is Beautiful. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ezekiel Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Brandon!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hughes to the mat! Hughes manages to get full guard.
Brandon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Brandon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hughes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hughes wants to sweep here but Brandon controlling him for the moment.
Hughes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hughes enables Brandon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hughes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hughes is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Brandon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hughes attempts a counter takedown but Brandon avoids it well and moves away.
Brandon shoots for a double leg takedown but Hughes sprawls well. He's pushed Brandon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ezekiel Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Brandon.
Brandon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hughes tries to avoid it but Brandon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hughes to the ground. Hughes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Good leg kick by Hughes there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hughes lands a glancing blow to the side of Brandon's head.
Brandon looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Ezekiel Hughes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brandon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hughes on his heels. He'll look to pass Hughes's guard now, I'm sure.

A close round but Junior Brandon will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hughes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brandon throws a hook but Hughes avoids it easily.
Hughes appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

A shot to the liver by Hughes. Beautiful body shot.
Brandon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hughes but Hughes pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Brandon tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brandon throws a sloppy strike and Hughes uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Hughes has ended up in Brandon's guard.

Hughes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brandon on the ground.

Let's hope that Brandon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Brandon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brandon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Brandon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hughes was covering up waiting for the punch and Brandon finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brandon connects with a nice short shot to Hughes's temple.

Brandon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Brandon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hughes's guard.
Hughes pushes Brandon off and scrambles back to his feet.
Ezekiel Hughes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hughes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brandon.
Hughes throws a low kick but Brandon moves out of range easily.
A nice side step and Brandon releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Junior Brandon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hughes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brandon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hughes is trying to escape the position but Brandon is controlling the position.
Hughes wants to control but Brandon postures up.
Brandon is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hughes will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Junior Brandon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
