Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Buddy Clark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Mcgregor! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgregor throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Clark tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mcgregor is in Clark's guard. Clark is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Clark breaks the clinch.
Mcgregor closes the distance and clinches. Mcgregor is looking to break free of the clinch but Clark has double underhooks. Clark lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Clark manages to break the clinch.
Mcgregor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. You can see the frustration on Clark's face as Mcgregor controls the position. Clark struggling a bit here. Clark is trying to work for a sweep but Mcgregor has mounted him! Clark working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgregor wants to control the pace but Clark is squirming around nicely. Mcgregor throws some wild stikes that Clark manages to avoid easily.
Clark really wants to buck Mcgregor off and get back to his feet. Mcgregor postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Clark looks a forlorn figure.
Clark wants to hold on but Mcgregor pushes him away. Mcgregor wants to control the pace but Clark is squirming around nicely. Mcgregor might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Clark haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Mcgregor is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Clark can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mcgregor prevents Clark from getting the reversal. Mcgregor lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Clark is rocked! Mcgregor loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Clark scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mcgregor land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mcgregor stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Mcgregor!
