Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Connor Kenway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and One Begen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenway comes to the cage accompanied by Warriors. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as One Begen enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Connor Kenway !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, One Begen!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Topper Green and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Begen throws a good cross that connects.
Kenway throws a series of punches but Begen avoids them all with ease.

Kenway shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kenway was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kenway moves into full mount!

Kenway jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Begen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Begen and Kenway has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Kenway trying to control the action but Begen is working from the bottom.
Kenway in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Begen is looking for a sweep.
Kenway tries to score with some ground and pound. Begen controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

You can see the frustration on Begen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kenway tries to advance to mount but Begen denies him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Begen can't do much from the bottom here.
Begen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kenway .

Begen tries to improve position but can't.
Kenway trying to control the position but Begen is working away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Begen tries to bench press Kenway off him but Kenway keeps the position.
Kenway misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Begen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kenway 's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kenway winds up and cracks Begen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kenway is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Begen defends it well.
Begen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Begen trying to control but Kenway postures up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Begen flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Kenway is thwarting Begen's attempts to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Begen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Kenway tries to keep at a distance but Begen has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kenway breaks the clinch.
Kenway lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Begen at a distance.
Kenway is looking to chop away at Begen's legs.
Begen tries to counter with a clinch but Kenway shakes him off and moves away.
Begen shoots in for a takedown but Kenway shows good takedown defense.
Jacob Connor Kenway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kenway swinging wildly here.
Begen wants to counter the offense by Kenway and move into the clinch position.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kenway .
Begen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Kenway closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Begen quickly recovers to half guard.

Begen kicks Kenway off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kenway tries to bum rush Begen with a series of wild strikes but Begen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Begen throws a wild body kick that Kenway sees coming a mile off.
Begen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kenway tries to avoid it but Begen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kenway to the ground. Kenway escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jacob Connor Kenway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of One Begen.
A punch combination from Kenway misses.
Begen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Begen is looking to clinch but Kenway is avoiding it.
Kenway goes for a double leg but Begen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Begen continues to drive forward.
A looping hook to the body misses from Begen. Kenway does a little dance to reset his feet.
Begen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kenway as he jumps to the side.
It looked like Kenway was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Begen dives in for a single leg takedown but Kenway sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Connor Kenway dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Begen throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Kenway counter with a right hand.
Kenway throws a head kick but Begen moves out of range.
Begen shoots in for a takedown but Kenway shows good takedown defense.
Begen tries for a takedown but Kenway sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kenway clinches with his opponent.
Begen tries to pull guard but Kenway won't allow it.

The referee is keeping an eye on Kenway - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Begen.
Begen tries for a takedown. No joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kenway fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Kenway shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kenway showed some decent athleticism there.

Begen pushes Kenway off and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Horrible takedown attempt by Kenway or perhaps it was just good defense by Begen, which made it look bad.

Kenway throws a shot to the body.
Kenway is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kenway looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Begen wants to counter the offense by Kenway and move into the clinch position.

Begen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kenway is fending him off so far but Begen persists. Nope, Kenway circles away and we're back to standing.
Kenway is looking for a counter combo.

Kenway fails to land with a series of punches.

Begen gets caught flat footed, as Kenway shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Begen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Kenway has Begen pressed against the cage, preventing Begen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kenway can't get the takedown.
Begen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kenway has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Begen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Begen is trying to push Kenway away but Kenway has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

A frustrated look appears on Kenway 's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Kenway tries to break free but Begen pushes him back against the cage.

Begen pulls guard successfully.
Kenway trying to control the position from guard on top but Begen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kenway has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kenway decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Begen shoots in for a takedown but Kenway shows good takedown defense.
Kenway looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jacob Connor Kenway will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kenway swings around for an armbar but Begen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kenway 's guard.

Begen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kenway works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kenway is staying active underneath Begen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Begen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kenway 's head.
One Begen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kenway holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Begen controlling the action here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kenway misses with a few strikes there.
Begen misses with a takedown attempt - Kenway sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Begen shoots in looking for a takedown. Kenway tries to sprawl out of it but Begen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kenway manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kenway shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Begen has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Kenway is on him like a limpet, forcing Begen back against the cage.
Jacob Connor Kenway is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Begen is working for takedown but Kenway is calmly controlling the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Begen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
One Begen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Begen pushes Kenway back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to One Begen.
I think Kenway has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Jacob Connor Kenway rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
